- President of Cameroon, Paul Biya on Tuesday (11/06/2012) will be
celebrating 30 years of rule by the dictatorial leadership style which
is rated one of the worst on the continent of Africa.
Biya who is now 79 years old may still be in power again after the
local parliament repeal the 2008 law that limits presidential power
constraints.
AFP news agency on Sunday (04/11/2012) reports, with the power of 30 years, the Biya joined the ranks of heads of state in power for more than three decades in the African country. Biya is still less than President Teodoro Obiang of Equatorial Guinea, Angola President Jose Eduardo do Santos, and Zimbabwe President Robet Mugabe.
Biya is Cameroon's second president since the country gained independence from France in 1960. Previously President Ahmadou Ahidjo in power since 22 years since the country gained independence.
The record for the Biya government still long for the 79-year-old. He became president after 80 percent of the vote gave its support to him in the general election last year. He could theoretically power until the year 2018 because parliament since the 2008 repeal provisions that restrict the reign of a president.
Kemerun consisting of a large number of ethnic groups, languages and religions is at least having less than 10 peberontakan action. But the hard-line leadership style, all insurgency is hardly had the power.
Biya of Cameroon People's Democratic Movement formed (CPDM) in 1985. At this time practically his cronies controlled all the country's main post. Therefore, the level of corruption in this country is the worst in the world.
